Charlevoix Area AA Group (CAAAG)
The Charlevoix Area AA Group (CAAAG) is an AA Group. It is probably your AA Group. CAAAG has 15 meetings in the Charlevoix Area (it fluctuates periodically) The 12 traditions, helping other alcoholics, and other AA Guidance with rotating service positions are the focus of our Group’s efforts.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) operates through the principle of group conscience, which ensures that decisions affecting the group are made collectively and democratically. The group conscience is expressed during regular business meetings where all members are encouraged to participate, fostering inclusivity and mutual respect. We have a business meeting every 3rd Tuesday of the Month at 5pm. We invite you to join us.
Decisions are guided by AA's Twelve Traditions, which prioritize the group's unity and purpose over individual preferences. Rotating service positions, such as chairperson, secretary, or treasurer, are an essential part of AA. These roles are often filled on a voluntary basis and rotated periodically to avoid any one person holding undue authority. This practice not only reinforces the spirit of equality within the group but also provides members with opportunities for personal growth and service, embodying AA's ethos of "principles before personalities." We have rotating service positions at CAAAG, and we invited you to join us in taking a service position.
AA’s Seventh Tradition states “Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.” Everything the group does is funded solely by meeting contributions by meeting attendees: Group Rent, literature purchases, and District 13 – Area 34 – CC Central support contributions come solely from member meeting contributions. You can make your contribution in the basket or using Venmo at this QR Code. For the basket cash, please use a CAAAG enveloped and put it in the safe under the TV.
Together, our group conscience and rotating service positions create a structure that is both flexible and accountable, ensuring the group's sustainability and alignment with AA's mission.
